"25" draws on the experiences of Wigan-born actress Amber Hodgkiss (Hollyoaks, Grange Hill) and Southport’s Charlotte Rothwell (BAFTA-Los Angeles' Newcomer of the Year 2013).
A 5-minute slice of life examining the impassible uncomfortability that comes with the transition into adulthood, “25” was devised from an honest oceanside conversation about Amber & Charlotte’s struggle with their launch into womanhood, and combined with Charlotte’s personal battle with a fear of the ocean following the death of a loved one. In its untamable and beautiful glory, the ocean serves as a metaphor of uncharted territory and opportunity.
Written, produced, and directed by women, “25” was brought to life with director Cyrina Fiallo and executive producer, Mary Kenny. Fiallo has appeared as an actor in CBS’s Rush Hour, NBC’s Community, Fox’s Glee and over 60 national commercials. With extensive experience in front of the camera, she intuitively transitions into the role of director, co-writer, and producer. Kenny, a graduate of UNC Charlotte, previously served as consulting producer for EndemolShine & YouTube Red’s “Keys of Christmas”
"25" celebrated its world premiere at the 2017 Charlotte Film Festival.
